PostSecret is undoubtedly the big winner in this year's Bloggies. It picked up five awards, including Blog of the Year. No big surprise really. It's been gathering momentum for a while now and has even reached the pages of the Guardian's Weekend magazine where, to be honest, I always felt like it belonged. I don't know why PostSecret leaves me cold but it's a little too... gimmicky, I suppose. But then I prefer my blogs to be practical rather than confessional. I was pleased to see that Boing Boing picked up Best Group Blog as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award. Also interesting is the fact that, of the eight regional categories, five of the winners were written by women. Do women make better bloggers? Or is it just coincidence? I have no idea but like I say, I thought it was interesting.
